Growing Angelica Herb Seeds

Growing Directions:

Seeds must have light to germinate and need only be lightly pressed into the surface of the soil. Germinates in 21-28 days if kept at 70 degrees and moist. Grows best in rich soil, out of the hot sun. Likes moist soils and is often found wild near streambanks. The roots can be dug in late summer and if sealed will keep the wonderful fragrance for some time. Leaves are best harvested in June for best aroma and for medicinal preparations.

 

Facts:

An ancient herb the latin name references a legend about a monk that saw an angel in a dream that showed him a plant that could cure the plague. The monk named the plant angelica in the angel's honer.
